OpenEA is an open-source enterprise architecture project focused on repository-first, explainable, self-hosted architecture management. OpenEA Community is the free, open-source edition of the platform.

What is OpenEA?

OpenEA is enterprise architecture software for connecting business capabilities, applications, technology, data, organizations, initiatives, ownership, lifecycle, governance, and architecture decisions in one governed model.

The repository is the authoritative architecture model. Visualizations, impact analysis, analytics, findings, portfolios, and roadmaps are derived from that structured information.

What is OpenEA Community?

OpenEA Community is the free and open-source edition of OpenEA. It is licensed under GNU AGPLv3 and designed to run on infrastructure controlled by the organization using it.

The supported deployment model uses Docker Compose, Python/FastAPI, and PostgreSQL. OpenEA Community can also operate offline after the required software and container images have been staged.
